HVAC Contractor of the Year Award 2000
|
Gareth Vaughan received the award on behalf of all of the Company from television personality Graham Norton who commented " You look genuinely shocked and pleased to receive this award". As in previous years winners are unable to comment on the night, however, we would like to acknowledge H&V News (Organisers), Viesmann (for sponsoring the award) and the judges who give freely of their time to these awards.
The judge's comments are reproduced below:
"Described as an organisation "clearly on the way up", the judges we immediately impressed with Poppleton's genuine enthusiasm to provide excellent service and quality training for its staff. Craftsmen had achieved NVQ level 3, while the site support team was on the way to reaching NVQ Level 2.
The contractor has also been able to demonstrate tangible benefits from its focus on training such as zero defects on projects and improved planning processes.
A range of other strengths including a healthy financial performance and a strong focus on satisfying customer demands, made Poppleton the clear winner. The judges said the company's attitude was all the more impressive since it operated in the ductwork sector, which has a reputation for ignoring the importance of training."
